Project AR2 is the re-release of Arras WordPress Theme, with up-to-date standards and new features. Built on HTML/CSS3. Released under the GPLv2 license.

Development was started in 2011 to update Arras with up-to-date web standards such as HTML5 and CSS3, and eventually be placed back up into the WordPress Themes Directory. As a result, almost the entire theme code, including its backend API, was rewritten to make the theme up to standard.

  • Homepage layout customizable with WordPress 3.4′s Theme Customizer.

  • Custom post types and taxonomies support, with Facebook-style taxonomies selection.
  • Two widgetized bottom sidebars in homepage.
  • Custom primary / secondary font selection.
  • Supports video, audio, gallery and image post formats.
  • Full-width, blog archives and redirect page templates.
  • Supports WordPress theme features: custom header, custom background, navigation menus and post thumbnails.
  • Relative post dates ( eg. 1 day ago, 5 hours ago, etc. )
  • Built on HTML5 and CSS3.
  • 5 custom color schemes to choose from.
  • Default widgets – Tabbed Sidebar, Featured Stories, Facebook Activity Box, Facebook Like Box, Google+ Badge, Twitter Feed, Video, Social Buttons.
  • Backend API to easily add new post sections, custom fonts, colors and theme options.

Requirements

  • Self-hosted WordPress – 3.4 and above

Installation

  • Login to WordPress Admin, go to Appearance > Themes
  • Go to ‘Install Themes’ tab, click on ‘Upload’
  • Upload the ZIP package you have downloaded
  • Go back to Appearance > Themes and activate ‘Project AR2′

    Really good work!!! One thing I just noticed, even happening in
    http://demo.arrastheme.com/, is that the Feed icon in the social buttons is not appending /feed/ and as such is just pointing to the website homepage.

    Custom feed URLs are no longer allowed due to support for automatic feed links. “, does this mean that feedburner URLs won’t be suported?

    I’m aware of that issue and will be fixing that up for the upcoming patch.

    As for the custom feed URLs, you will need to install the Feedburner plugin to change your feed URLs.

    In the news section on the homepage will there be an option to have links for older and newer posts? This would be a really handy option to have. Great work on the theme btw!

    Hi, I’m wondering if you’re planning to add an ‘In reply to’ link to comments in this new version. It gets very confusing when you have a lot of comments to see the relation between different level comments.
    I saw in the demo that there is the beginning of something that looks like a line pointing to the parent comment. Is that so?

    Great work and great theme. I just have 2 problems.
    1.
    Any idea why when I enable SlideShow I get all news on one slide. For
    example if i put 2 posts in slideshow, they will appear on one slide
    devidet on 2…same for 3-4-5 posts…

    Тестируя ваше тему, обратил внимание, что на странице архивных материалов, вверху, отображается непонятный код: Array ( [type] => quick [count] => 10 [title] => [use_main_query] => 1 [enabled] => 1 [persistent] => ) . В чём ошибка?
    Пример скрина – во вложении.

    By testing your topic, I noticed that on page archives, above, shows a strange code: Array ([type] => quick [count] => 10 [title] => [use_main_query] => 1 [enabled] => 1 [persistent] =>). What is wrong?
    An example of a screen – as an attachment.

    You’ll need to update to the latest build of the theme, which fixes that mistake I’ve made while committing some new code :

    yes , you can open google chrome and resize screeen google chrome.

    I’ve loved using Arras for around a year and AR2 is certainly welcomed!

    Is the MINI version available???!!! It’s beautifully suited for another simple project.

    Problems with this.

    Header not clickable.

    Menu not working (pulls up all categories on every menu link instead of specific categories). Then I just upgraded again to ‘Master” download and now cannot choose the number of ‘News’ items at bottom of main page. Instead it defaults to 12.

    Am having to go back to the original Arras. Too bad as it looks beautiful but needs a few months more work, IMO, for it to be stable enough to use.
