Hi everyone. It's my first time here so I hope my questions don't sound too trivial.
I have Wordpress 3.3 installed with Arras 1.5.1.2. I love this theme because it's not fussy and gets straight to business! I don't know how to program html/css but with online instructions I have customised my own sites before.

I've seen a website that uses Arras and it looks great because of some of the customisations, but wasn't sure how to do them myself. I've included a screenshot.  http://ismashphone.com/

I'd like to add a Google Adsense horizontal ad at the top of the page. A Google adsense box on the right. And add a small horizontal Google Ad at the bottom of each post page

I like the Search box to move from the top to the right column.

Is there a right order to do this?  And if I make changes and then a new version of the theme is released will they be lost?
