Topic: Just purchased CG and having a few issues. Please help.

Hi,

I recently purchased the Classical Gamer child theme, but I am having a few issues with it.

I am currently using the following:
Arras version 1.4.3
Classical Gamer version 0.9

The one site it is loaded on at the moment is www.vampiredaze.com which is part of my blogging network at www.worldblogosphere.com which is running the new WP 3.0 software.

#1) While in Node Mode all the thumbnails appear supersized. I have tried regenerating the thumbs, I have tried adjusting the size of the thumbs to the suggested size, and then regenerating again...all with no luck. So, how can I fix Node Mode?

#2) When I tried loading in a header image/logo it appeared on the Design page, but didn't affect the blog page itself. Same thing with the background image. As I typed this I had a thought that I might know why this isn't working. I have copied the CG file for the individual blog and named the file VDClassic. Is the problem that the coding tells it to look for classical-gamer folder? If so, where is the line of code that calls the folder so I can change it?

#3) Since I could not get the header or background images to work through the Design page I hard coded them into the page. If I leave it that way I need to know how to remove the blog title and info from the header so it isn't on top of my header image.

#4) After regenerating the thumbs the featured scroller is working. However, there seems to be at least one image that is skewed/stretched. That same image shows full size in the Featured Posts widget on the single pages. How do I go about fixing that?

#5) Is there an updated version of the Arras parent theme that works with the Classical Gamer child theme?

Thanks for any help you can give me,
Gene

Oops, forgot one thing...

#6) I currently have it setup with two sidebars to the right. The problem is, the second sidebar which is the sidebar on the left...I can only put two widgets in it or it causes problems. The entire column shifts to the very bottom of the page.
Also, is there som explanation as to where each widget section goes?

Your site seems fine to me, are the problems resolved?

Re: Just purchased CG and having a few issues. Please help.

Hi zy,

Well going back to my list...

#1 ) The node mode still doesn't work. I have it set to quick preview mode for the time being because there are readers going to the site every day. But when I switch it to node mode all the thumbnails are giant sized.

#2 ) The header image is hard coded into the user.css file. IT isn't working when I try using the built in Design feature.

#3) After coding the header image into the css file the Blog Info was still showing at the top of the header. I tried removing it through the code within the CG folder but the code isn't in there anywhere because it calls on the arras folder's header.php file. So I had to go in and remove the code that puts it there within the header.php file. The problem is when someone else uses the arras or CG theme for their page the code won't be there for them even if they want it and not an image in the header.

#4) After regenerating the thumbnails one image (on the tenth post)... the image is all stretched out of proportion in the scroller, and on the single posts pages I have the featured plugin in the sidebar...that same image shows full sized there.

#5) What is the most recent arras parent theme that will work with the CG child theme?

#6) I have the two sidebars setup. In the left hand sidebar (which is Secondary Sidebar 1) I can only put two plugins in the spot. If I put more than that it messes everything up and puts the column at the bottom of the page. Right now I have it setup where I put one plugin, the executable PHP plugin, in there and have the code for like 5 different things all in the one. Once I add more than two plugins though it again pushes the column down under the page and before the footer.

Thanks for any help,
Gene

I'd love to have admin access on your blog, if that's possible, so that I can find the source of each problem.
