Topic: Issues with WP version upgrade?

I have a blog with 3 years worth of posts that's using Arras v. 1.4.2 with Wordpress v. 3.0.1. I'm wondering if I should expect any issues if I upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress using this version of Arras. With all this content, I don't want to break the blog.

Does anyone know of any issues with this upgrade?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: Issues with WP version upgrade?

With the many different configurations and setups it's not easy to say for any one person how they will be affected by upgrades. I would duplicate your site and run a dev/testing environment and find out yourself.

One of the reasons I use Wordpress is because I'm not really technologically "gifted," if you get my drift. I'm not sure what (or where) I would duplicate in order to run a "dev/testing environment." I think that's probably a little over my head. But I appreciate your reply.

Re: Issues with WP version upgrade?

You may run into some issues with plugins, but "should" not hit many bumps with the theme itself. Note: should is the key word and anything encountered so far has been discussed and fixed in these forums.

The thing is you have to be willing to deal with the problems should they occur.

I have EZPZ Backup installed. I guess I'll run a backup and then give it a shot! Again, thanks for the reply.
