What I want to do is have someone keep a blog and post it on my site. I don't want to give him admin login privileges, but I don't want to have him email me his post and I have to manually cut and paste it into a new post. How can I have him keep a running blog, but have it on my site? I don't want to redirect to an outside blog, I want it to appear on my site with the same header, sidebar etc. Any ideas????
Why not just make him a Contributor? He will be able to log into a dashboard but he won't be able to access the main admin options.
This sound like it will work. Not sure how to set it though....
okay, set it up. But once logged in, I don't want the contributor to have access to all the existing post. Only to their post. Is this possible?
and can I customize the dashboard the contributor sees?
Here is a description of the roles from the wordpress site:
Summary of Roles
Administrator - Somebody who has access to all the administration features
Editor - Somebody who can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people's posts, etc.
Author - Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts
Contributor - Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish posts
Subscriber - Somebody who can read comments/comment/receive news letters, etc.
The default role for a new user can be set using the Settings General SubPanel.
Do any of those fit your needs or do you need more customization?

With Adminimize http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/adminimize/ you can set a lot of things they can or cannot see. I actually use it for myself to hide things I don't use.
I think a 'Author' is just what I'm looking for. Sorry, I'm still learning all of this.
