Actually, I tried it (BBPRess) and had zero luck. Which sucks because I need a forum solution. Currently I use SMF externally and use CSS to match my site, but I'd like to put the forums inside my wordpress as a plugin so I can use my advertising banners better.
I use http://simple-press.com/ which is almost at a new version, which will be much more interesting. It's quite nice actually and it fits inside wordpress and your theme as a plugin.
Arras not support BBPRESS?
The forum solution that worked for me is Mingle Forum.

Any updates on this I really wanted achievments and atm it only seems available with buddy press which by default would mean its best for me to use bbpress forums?
