Change Log

  • Added custom background option

  • Improved styling on post content

  • Improved look on 404 and missing post pages

  • Fixed default navigation buttons not aligned properly

  • News posts will now show based on archive display type on 'Older Posts' is click on home

  • New function arras_render_posts() can now be used to render new posts more easily than arras_get_posts()

  • Made more tweaks to hyperlinks in default.css

  • Revamped custom fields appearance, made tweaks to hyperlinks in default.css

  • Fixed duplicate META description when All in One SEO plugin is activated

  • Revamped footer layout

  • Fixed <link>'s media attribute (projection, not projector)

  • Used get_comments() instead of a direct query for Latest Comments in multi-tabbed sidebar

  • Fixed thumbnails not displaying properly in archive and search templates

  • Heights for each individual nodes for node-based display type will automatically adjust to the longest node

  • Fixed featured content box not transparent in IE

Great! Then I shall be the first guinea pig to post and volunteer!

Any idea how long between beta and normal release? I mean, have you submitted v1.41 to wordpress theme library yet or when are you planning to submit?

Hello zy,
I like you theme and I like the new features since 1.4 RC because it have all i wanted compared to the previous version 1.3.6 like custom header, custom background and option to disable display date and comments count in post thumbnails.
Today I have installed Arras Theme 1.4.1 (r177) and like 1.4 RC i have the same problem on my home.
I explain :
The Featured Slideshow is not working, no slideshow only fix most recent or the one i put in front
But i have configured Show Category on All Categories and show posts on 4 posts
On the featured post #1 in display type Node based and Post count on 8 posts, i have a problem too very strange, like 2 locations was empty. There is a gap
I have changed of course Custom Field with thumb and use the 2.9 article thumbnail integrated and have Regenerate Thumbnails with Regen. Thumbnails plugins
and I don't know why i have this display disfunction ?
I didn't have this problem display order in 1.3.6
My blog is new I have only 8 posts actually avaible.
I have installed all the recommanded plugins but it says same abut bug display.
If you can help me ?

Same problem

I have tested arras-theme-14rc-fixed-ToNovy and the problem about featured post #1 gap disapered with this version theme.

The problem about slideshow in featured continue, it is always present with your last version and with arras-theme-14rc-fixed-ToNovy

I disabled all my extensions and actually there is no display problems. so I'll reactivate one by one for each extensions and I'll see which is causing the malfunction.
And I will tell you immediately what extension is.

I have found the extension who is the problem with your new version theme.

And the big winner extensions is :

youtube with style Version 7.0

Big problem display
Gap in feature display
No slideshow feature

else there are other extension that cause a malfunction in the display
AdSense Manager Version 3.3.3
a problem of mismatch of all modules that are placed below it. It also affects the display on the part of Featured Posts #1, for any widgets displayed below it in the sidebar

and finally less important at this extension:

Admin Favicon version 1.4
nonfunctional, the favicon theme arras takes over

I tried this theme for a few minutes.  Only problem that I noticed was that my images weren't centered on the featured slide show.  They were all off to the left.

Custom Header:

"Hide Text" setting does not appear to work - the original text is still shown over the top of any new uploaded banner.

On the next screen you will be able to crop the image.

There is no next screen... ~ ?

Hi Melvin,

I was thinking about the slideshow. I love it, but I don't really like the controls inside the slideshow itself. Did you even consider putting them right next to the slideshow? Something like this:

question. i want to translate the read more buttons and more text. can this been done with a .mo file or hardcoded?

Use PoEdit to edit the mo file to your language and save it as your language in this case I guess nl_NL.mo?

I just downloaded the files through SVN to get r191 instead of r177 but the files seem to be older, is that correct?

Also did you commit 1.4.1 to wp already?

but how do you make the translations inside the .mo when i open the default.mo i don't understand how to translate buttons/text.
