Topic: Standard Thumbnail Size in Featured Articles

Hey there everyone!
I'm having a problem with the size of the standard thumbnail size in the featured articles overview when using QUICK PREVIEW mode!
It works like it should in node mode but not in quick preview.
The Latest Posts section works like a charm though when using quick preview.
The standard thumbnail doesn't get resized as it should while manually added thumbnails for new posts are resized properly.

What could be causing this?

I will use the node based view for now as long as I don't have a solution...

The standard thumbnail has only one size while a newly added thumbnail gets resized in different formats.

In other words: there's only a 320x250 sized standard thumbnail while a new thumbnail gets resized to 640x250, 195x110 and 150x150 upon adding it.

You don't quite get what I mean I believe.
You know the standard thumbnail, right? The one with the photo camera in it.
It GETS resized in the News Section to 155x155 and it GETS resized in the Featured Slideshow to that wide format but it DOESN'T get resized in the Featured Article section where it should be 195x110 instead the BORDER is in the right size but the image itself is at 320x250!

So why doesn't it get resized just like it is with the other sections? That's what I want to know.

Do you have a link to your site? In one of my test installs all the standard thumbnails with the photo camera are 320x250, no matter where they are used.

It's not public yet and I settled for the node view anyway, I guess.

Allright, rightclick on the images and open the image itself. You'll probably see it's the 320x250 image everywhere, in the slideshow, in quick preview and node based.

I know that the true image is at 320x250 ^^
My point was, that the quick preview in the featured section was the only view mode in only this category that didn't manage to resize the image properly, that's it.
Custom Thumbnails were resized correctly though and that's what made my head spin.
(By resize I don't mean an actual existing new image with that size but only the way the browser has to display it properly)

Right now I'm grinding my teeth at the (for me) rather complex CSS =/...

The moment you add a custom thumbnail through the featured image/post thumbnail WordPress box in the bottom right corner of the post it makes a couple of images in the right size.

The photo camera is just never uploaded so it never gets resized. That's why it looks somewhat whacky. It displays the 320x250 as 155x155, that can never look good smile

Wow, strange stuff.
I wanted to show you a screenshot but...
Well it works now with my OWN standard thumbnail (it has the same size as the old one though) so: nevermind ^^

Same problem here. I had to replace the standard thumbnail with something else and now it does work.

Theme 1.4.3.1 + child theme.

Yes it looked just like that for me!!!
As soon as you replace it with your own standard thumbnail it doesn't happen anymore.
