Topic: Have a category only post in Featured Categories and not in News

Hi all, been using Arras for about a year now and finally upgraded. Loving a lot of the new features.

But I have a question I have been searching the forums for and have been wanting to customize for a long time.

Is there a way to ONLY post a specefic category in a featured or index spot, and not have it show up in the standard news posts? Like let's say I want "show reviews" to be my top featured slideshow. But then I don't ever want to include "show reviews" in my news posts (which is were all the other categories are posted).

Basically, can I OMIT a certain category from showing up in one of the posting areas?

You can achieve it by changing something in home.php.

Tried, but I wound up royally screwing everything up. Not EXACTLY sure what I would have to change, I tried to add some type of omit code, but it only basically took away my whole site. If you could point me more in the right direction it would be much appreciated, if you don't know yourself, than that's ok. Thanks anyways.

I also just had one more question, inquiry, curious why...

When we upgraded to the newer Arras Theme it took away the "comments part" on posts on the main page. You have to be on the actual posts URL page to view the amount of comments, go to make a comment, and see that there even are any. For me, this takes away from my readers, because they tend to read straight from the Lostinsound.org INDEX PAGE. They've been asking me why they can't comment on articles anymore. Basically there needs to be a way from the IndexPage to click to comment on an article. (and it used to be like that).

Any reason why? or better yet, any ways to fix/modify this?

Do you know what I would have to change? I would like the "blog" category to show up as my Featured Slideshow, And then "All Categories - the blog category" to show up in News Posts.

Also, is there a way for when on the homepage people are able to see the amount of comments on an article? (When in traditional mode.)

You don't use the featured posts section?
