Topic: Thumbnails in sliding area

Hi all.

First and foremost, thanks a bunch for the new theme. It's just what I need, and I can't wait to get everything setup with all the tweaks in place.

My question relates to the thumbnails generated by the sliding gallery area on the front page, which display really bad artifacting and what seems to be dodgy aspect ratio stratching.

Is there any way we can control the size of the thumbnails that are generated for that area? It just lets the rest of the theme down visually to have such a noticable drop in quality when you get to a section designed for gallery use.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. For an example of what I mean, just have a look at my homepage (www.7outof10.co.uk) and note the blocky and slightly stretched thumbnails in that section compared to the rest of the site.

Did you run the regenerate thumbnails plugin? It's now displaying 105x75 images as 150x90, no wonder they look bad.

Yep. I ran that a few times this morning without any luck.

I'm not sure how it generates those thumbnails and how to alter their size?

The thumbnail size in the media settings in Wordpress is 195x110 (setting it lower messes up the main thumbnails elsewhere).

The actual images I'm feeding into the articles for the sliding bar are of various resolutions, but always much higher than the actual thumbnail size.

This can be closed now, I figured out what the problem is.

For some reason, when selecting an image from the Arras gallery to use as a thumbnail, it uses the default thumbnail size from Arras to resize the images. I have that set lower in order to make it fit within my template, so it was creating awful screens.

However, if I just use a regular image through the main wordpress media section, it's all good.
