The mis-alignment irritated me so I switched back to a somewhat more conventional layout. Little bit of rewriting of php and some css-changes. Now it looks much better smile

Zy's (beautiful) Child Theme Classical Gamer has a nice 'scrollable' extra beneath the slideshow, which made me looking for something similar yet different. My first idea was a scrolling carousel on top of every single post but that didn't work well so I changed my initial idea and made a 660px wide endless carousel which is placed beneath the posts and the comments and shows the last 10 posts.

There are actually two different ones on my site, for different categories. I initially made a plugin for it but build it into my theme, that was easier ('cause I already use too many plugins).

It doesn't call for anything 'arras' related so far so I guess I could build a plugin which can be used in any theme which has post thumbnails activated. Are there people who'd like to see such a plugin I wonder? Dunno, but just might take that chance.

(on a sidenote: it uses a different jQuery plugin as Classical Gamer so it's not a rip-off :-))

A Plugin would be very nice...but I think a guide (or the Code) would be better - so anyone can build it in their themes in any place they want.

You can get the code from the plugin of course, but I'll be writing something about it anyway (on nullcore.nl), so just hang on for a few more days. The plugin won't have any placement options by the way. If people want to add it to their theme they need to add a piece of code.

Abused the custom post type functionality of WordPress to create a 'blog'. Just a way to add posts with little content to the site without having to deal with them anywhere else. They don't show up when people perform a search, not on the frontpage and not in the recent posts widget.

Added add category-blog.php and single-blogpost.php as new templates to style it to my liking.

Added a new custom post type: Magazine, it will host some things which won't be part of the 'normal' reviews and stuff. They won't show up in searches or on the front page. I was looking for a way to display these posts and I liked the idea of using the slideshow thumbnail for other purposed other than the slideshow itself.

Hi!

I like your plugins and layout! One question... The dropdown menu's in the topbar... Do they come with Arrastheme bundled or is this a plugin? If they come with Arras theme, can you tell me what I have to do to show something in that menubar? Whatever I'm trying to do, nothing shows up in the menubar at my site!

Thanks a lot for this very quick answer! I already knew that... My problem is that they won't drop down. What especially is it what drops down? Is it a main category with sub categories? Or did you hardcoded the drop downs?

For example when I made a main category "Photography" and I have subcategories like "macro", "portraits", "scenery", and so on... How do I make the topmenu that "photography" shows up in the bar and the dropdown's are the subcategories I mentioned?

Hope you can help me because in the Arras theme itself I can't find an option to edit the menubar...

My animeblog is now converted to an extension of my NullCore 2.0 Child Theme.

There's a grey and a black option.
